Mitte Cafe lies beyond Fitzroy North's main drag, away from the bustle of the artisan bakeries, organic cafes and takeaway restaurants that clutter the suburb's hub. Understated, yet full of character, the cafe, named after a cafe quarter of Berlin, is set in an old milk bar. That's where its Germanic ties end though, the menu is thoroughly Australian, with a selection of simple, fresh cafe food made with flair.
